Methiche Varan is a simple dal recipe that is usually eaten with rotis or rice.
Ingredients:
- One cup of methi leaves
- One cup of arhar dal
- One teaspoon of gur
- Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder
- Half a teaspoon of chilli powder
- Salt for taste
Steps:
- Clean and soak dal in water for a period of 30 minutes.
- Now cook it using turmeric powder. Add 3 cups of water too.
- Whisk well and add jaggery and some chilli powder.
- Now heat some oil in a pan and add garlic.
- Saute till it has turned golden.
- Add fenugreek seed leaves and sauté for 2 minutes again.
- Now pour this over the dal that is cooked.
- Serve hot.
